Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is treated water safe?
- A. O. Smith Reverse osmosis water treatment systems effectively remove all bacteria and viruses, heavy metals, pesticide residues and other hazardous materials from water. As long as you use the product in accordance with the filter replacement schedule, it will provide the cleanest water.
-
Why should I get a water treatment product?
- Even though the water is treated in the centralized urban treatment systems, factors such as the chlorination process used for disinfection purposes, as well as the aging mains water systems, defective pipes, and storage in water tanks can lead to the contamination of water with pollutants, heavy metals, chemicals and other foreign substances that may have a negative effect on the odor and taste of water. These pollutants can harm your health. Water treatment systems help remove these pollutants and supply odorless water with a pleasant taste, making the water truly safe to drink. The systems bring you delicious and fresh drinking water from the tap without any hassle.
-
Does the water purification system also remove the beneficial minerals in the water?
- The purpose of reverse osmosis systems is to remove hazardous elements from water. Given its operating principle, a water treatment product cannot discriminate between the contents of water, considering some are healthy and some are hazardous. It simply removes polluting elements and minerals from the water, such as bacteria, virus, residue and chlorine. Meeting all your mineral requirements by solely drinking water would require drinking liters of water each day. For this reason, contrary to common knowledge, our bodies get the necessary minerals from food.
-
What is the pH value of purified water?
- The pH value of treated water will vary according to the intake water. According to the “TS266 Water Intended for Human Consumption” standards, the acceptable pH value range for drinking water is 6.5-9.5.
-
What is the filter replacement frequency?
- On average, the intake filters need replacement twice a year, while the output filter should be replaced once a year, and the membrane is recommended to be replaced once every two to three years, but can vary based on the quality of water and the volume of use. A. O. Smith water treatment products notify the users with audio and visual alerts through the digital screen or the electronic tap about the filter cartridge replacement requirements and the membrane’s remaining life.
-
How do I know it is time to replace the filters? How can I get replacement filters?
- You do not need to keep track of the replacement periods. A. O. Smith water treatmet products notify the users with audio and visual alerts through the digital screen or the electronic tap, about the filter cartridge replacement requirements and the membrane’s remaining life. The filters are available at our dealers and sales points.
-
What is the warranty period for the system and spare parts supply following the delivery? Are the filters covered by warranty?
- There is a two-year warranty period for Lotus, Daphne, Daisy and Frezya products, a three-year warranty for Lily products, and five years for Triasoft models. A. O. Smith will supply spare parts and consumables for all systems for 10 years after purchase, in consideration of an applicable fee. The filters and the membrane are considered consumables for water treatment systems and are not covered by the warranty.

-
Can we use a different faucet or one with two outlets? Is it necessary to put a hole in the kitchen counter?
- The product comes with one treatment tap. However, if you don’t want a hole in the kitchen counter, a different tap can be provided for an additional fee.
-
I really want to buy the device, but do you offer a trial period?
- Once the products are used by our customers, they become second hand products, even if the filters are replaced. Given our commitment to supply new products to our customers, we do not offer a trial period.
-
What is the function of Water Softener Systems?
- For water with high levels of calcium and magnesium, these hard minerals can lead to lime deposits as water evaporates when treated with heat. Excessive amounts of lime can cause failures in domestic appliances and commercial equipment requiring water, as well as stains on bathroom and kitchen surfaces, not to mention the negative effects on a number of skin conditions, including eczema. Water softener systems remove the lime from water, and thus help eliminate the harm caused by lime.
-
Do the Water Softener Systems consume a lot of salt and water?
- A. O. Smith Triasoft systems consume 50% less salt and 80% less water compared to ordinary water softener systems. The refresh period of the system is also 80% shorter compared to similar systems.
-
Are the Water Softener Systems certified?
- A. O. Smith Triasoft systems have been tested and certified by WQA and NSF. Nine distinct and patented parts of the system consume water and salt only as required, achieving a high level of efficiency.
